Just because things are working well with my artwork doesn’t mean things are working well with my space to do the artwork in. I need to get mentally prepared!
I’m feeling a little bit claustrophobic! I’m not quite sure what happens, but it happens all the time! I did have people over for Christmas, so I think that made whatever was happening in my studio worse! You know, getting things out of one room and putting them in another. That room was my studio. From Thanksgiving to after New Year’s, I usually put my art on hold, not purposely; it’s just what happens because of everything that comes along with the holiday season, traveling, parties, extracurricular activities, baking (who am I kidding? I didn’t bake; my daughter did) 😉
And in the blink of an eye, my poor doggie is stuck in the studio without me, because there’s no more room for me. :( So . . . I ordered some furniture with drawers. 19 drawers to be exact. I plan to put everything that is all over my desk, as well as the extra table that I added, and all the shelves, and put them in those drawers. I don’t know if it’s a good plan. It seems like it will be. We shall see. All my other plans of rearranging my studio seemed to work for a little bit, until they didn’t work anymore.
Of course, every time I rearrange something in my house, it’s like a snowball. A snowball that gets bigger and bigger every time I touch something. In this case, it was the piano in my studio. Why is there a piano in my studio, one might ask? Because my husband wanted a piano, and with those famous last words of “for now", in my studio it went. It’s very out of tune, and we decided not to get it tuned until it found its forever place because my studio was not going to be the forever place.
Fast forward five years, and there it still sat.
So now that the order was placed for my new pieces of furniture, the snowball started to roll down the hill. Where to put the piano? It still can’t go in my husband's music studio. That room has a snowball all of its own! To fix that room, he needs to figure out where to put many things! Maybe we should just move. Ugh!
So, the question remains, where do we put the piano???

THE PIANO IN ITS NEW "FOR NOW" PLACE
It finally landed in the dining room, another “for now" spot, but one room closer to where it should be. So that left one piece of furniture that needed to find a new home. A long side table that was in my hallway until I found another one on someone's curb. It was perfectly fine and needed to be rescued. I put that in the hallway and squeezed in the one that was there in the dining room. Now I switched the hallway back to the original, and the rescued piece is in limbo once again. Ugh!!! It will probably end up in the attic, like a lot of other things. You know, "for now".
When I finally get up in the attic to clean, someone will most likely end up in that snowball, because it will be so freakin huge! My plan for that is to get a dumpster and throw things right out the window into it. We don't have a window up there, but I will put one in just to be able to throw things out of it!
We have big dreams, or I should say, I have big dreams of what I want to do with my house. I would love to get rid of all my furniture, all of it! Hire an interior decorator to make my house look like the ones on HGTV! You know, with furniture that actually fits in the space, as well as a place for everything. I know, it's not reality, having things look great all of the time. Things don't always stay that way once you start living in them. Lucky for me, there will always be an annual rearranging extravaganza!

BEFORE AFTER
I am a person who loves change. In the end, I am very fulfilled. I just wish someone else could figure it out and do it for me. :)
Stay inspired,
